Davido has joined the sweep of Nigerians on Twitter who are currently furious with veteran Nollywood actor and Lawmaker Desmond Elliot, following his recent take on social media regulation in Nigeria.
For some reason, Elliot has an issue with how Nigerian youths express themselves on social media so he called for a regulation.
While speaking at the National Assembly, Elliot warned that Nigeria may not exist in the next five years if young Nigerians continue to use social media as a tool of abuse.
The lawmaker representing Surulere Local Government said Nigerian celebrities and influencers should join hands to stop social media violence.
He spoke against the lootings by young people during the #EndSARS protest, insisting that Nigerian youth have gone overboard with the freedom they have on social media.
The Nollywood actor called on the Speaker of the house of Representative and suggested that something must be done about regulating social media in Nigeria.
However, Davido was disappointed at his take, he tweeted that “Desmond Elliot just destroyed all the precious child hood memories he gave us in movies ….”
